A whirlwind of rage and steel

This is some of which came into my mind first. Actually I thought of it last night too, I was thinking of changing my twitter handle which I did after almost four and a half years of joining for the first time. I wanted something short and compact, but also to make some sense, even if it’s just me. And this is what came to my head

So folks, I’m now @aworas on twitter!

Well for the inspiration behind it, just check out this post.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Killing Monsters Cinematic Trailer

Video

This is what I have been waiting for since months! The CGI trailer for the most ambitious and soon to be the best story/game one would ever witness, is upon us!

CD Projekt RED is proud to present The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt “Killing Monsters” cinematic trailer to the public for the first time, offering a thrilling glimpse into the morally ambiguous universe of Geralt of Rivia.

“Killing Monsters” portrays the cruel and gritty world of The Witcher and foreshadows the mature mood of the upcoming story-driven RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, set for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2014.

“Actions speak louder than words. We wanted this short movie to communicate that Geralt, despite being seen as a sellsword by many, has his own code of conduct and operates outside of the dirty morality of the world he lives in,” said Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED.

“Killing Monsters was a great opportunity to show the ambiance of No Man’s Land – one of the vast areas in the game that the players will visit during their adventure. The overwhelming feeling of despair can be quite shocking, especially when you consider who the real monster is,” Badowski added.

Laughing out Loud with Deadpool

Tell us about the last time you had a real, deep, crying-from-laughing belly laugh.

Just recently I finished playing this game called Deadpool based on the fan favoutire comic book character of the same name soon withing days of release. With a very humorous script the game is dam hilarious , I couldn’t remember when I wasn’t laughing out loud! Here are two screenshots among some I took. The character is also famous for breaking the fourth wall, in the comic books and now in the game. Do play it for a heartfelt laughter and enjoyably time!

Dragonborn

Vampires or Werewolves, never been so fascinating as Dragons for me. In my imagination always wanted to be a Dragon. There are some cool such individuals in The Witcher universe though I wouldn’t want to spoil anything in case you decide to check it out (which you totally should) 🙂

Though this track is from a different game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which serves like one of my life tracks. 😀

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Debut Trailer

I can’t tell you how happy I am right now. The debut (gameplay) trailer for my most anticipated game of all time – The Witcher 3: WIld Hunt just debuted a while ago at the first conference held by Microsoft at E3. Nothing else to say, everything else for later now just getting pumped! This is the best game of E3 2013 and probably next year and the best game of 2014 already!

Alright I haven’t done something like this before and there is always a first time so, I need your help, the readers across the realm of the internet this time. A direct interaction with the virtual citizens of the internet. Well sort of. Help me writing my next post, and well get to know a bit more about you (whoever you maybe). 😀

A Manner of Speaking

Well I don’t know what much to say for this, since I don’t particular have a pattern which can be noticed or mimicked. Though I tend to speak fast and before I used to stammer a lot, for which the insignificant species still at times ridicule me for it but now things are much better. Well I don’t know whether I’ll have to boast about my vast vocabulary or hipster nature, but I use words like ‘godspeed’ and phrases like ‘back in the day’ a lot which is quite prominent. The former mainly came from The Witcher franchise of games, which is my most favourite and one of the best there is, see my review of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings here. While the latter is, well more of a self made thing (origin unknown) which is a favourite of the likes of some I know.

Movies are not the Monsters

People are.

A common, very misguided question in belief is Does watching violent movies inspire violence in the real world? Now this also extends to video games, believed to make children/adults violent, and even others like books on such topics (which are labeled controversial)

Now how I find this personally is, absolutely ridiculous. Sure movies and other such media play a big role in our lives varying from different scenarios, and one can always argue that if these can provide some sort of inspiration in the positive light, at the same time it can also negatively influence a person. While that is very true, but often in most cases, it’s deemed as movies themselves are the root cause of the problem? Which leads to ask me – are you a fucking retard?

hc-violent-video-games-dont-cause-violence-201-001.jpg

Let’s say a violent movie is the root cause of the problem. In that case, if I may compare it to a recent problem regarding gun regulation, it was the fault of the gun manufacturer and the gun itself, an inanimate object, but not the person who actually pulled the trigger right? The gun attracted and seduced the person to get it and pull the trigger resulting in killing or whatever hell they did?

timthumb.php.jpgHeck why guns? Let’s take something which is found in almost every household, a kitchen knife. That which is used to prepare food and also result in a gruesome injury and possibly death, so every person who has a knife in his house must be quarantined because of possessing a potential murder weapon.

Now doesn’t all this above sound ridiculous? Then why does the same thing in the context of movies and this culture becomes something worth of discussing? Just because your pathetic mind is incompetent of comprehending what all this is about? And by you, I meant all those idiotic people so called politicians, ministers and ‘law makers’ (more like self pissers) and those people who share this thinking. What a pathetic mindset.

Movies like others are a form of art, and is the biggest way how the ‘artists’ connect with the people. For many it’s a way of life. They are just a representation of our real world with a mix of the powerful imagination of creative minds. What happens in many movies are actually in a way what happens in our real world! Let’s say, we lived in a utopia, free of violence, crime, corruption and suffering. There is only peace and harmony. Only all the possible good in the world. How drastically different the world would be? But do you think in that case movies or anything else won’t be made, because there is ‘nothing’ to talk or show about? That’s where you are wrong. Even if we lived in a so called perfect world, there would be minds who would think of all the present existing evil there is. In that scenario, that would be their fiction. Just like we have countless of our own – medieval, fantasy, magic, sci-fi, et cetera to name a few.

The shooting last year around the time of release of The Dark Knight Rises was very tragic. Many (fools) instantly jumped on the issue claiming for the dark movies to be the cause of it, making the lunatic who was later found to possess an arsenal of dangerous weapons to do it, resulting in lot of pain and death. The movie or a character which was creating and existing for over 70 years since  1939 wasn’t the problem, the problem was with that guy who needed medical attention and good parenting. And some brains if I might add.

There are enough problems which actually need solving in our planet, so why not spend our time and energy towards them instead of fulfilling someone else’s agenda without any rational thinking, shall we?

Infinite Earworms

What song is stuck in your head (or on permanent rotation in your CD  or MP3 player) these days? Why does it speak to you?

Since the release of BioShock Infinite, which I have been waiting for so dam long, pre-ordered more than half a year ago, initially to be released last October ’12, then postponed to 26 Febraury ’13 (right on my birthday!) then saddened as again was postponed a month later and finally released on 26th March. While the game was amazing as fuck, extremely beautiful in all aspects, beautifully visuals, well crafted story which ended with a calm bang (quite literally), being one of the best games there is, here I want to highlight it’s extremely beautiful music. Actually the ‘main theme’ if you can call it, song is Will The Circle Be Unbroken. There is another choir version at the beginning of the game, which was mind blowing, and upon finishing the game there was this longer more calm soothing version which was infinitely (see what I did there?) amazing!

The song is often recorded unattributed. Here the music, the lyrics – so soothing and beautiful and speaks right for itself. Can’t get this over my head and keeps playing in my head. I might have even cried the first time I heard it.

There are loved ones in the glory,
Whose dear forms you often miss;
When you close your earthly story,
Will you join them in their bliss?

Will the circle be unbroken
By and by, by and by?
In a better home awaiting
In the sky, in the sky?

In the joyous days of childhood,
Oft they told of wondrous love,
Pointed to the dying Savior
Now they dwell with Him above.

You remember songs of heaven
Which you sang with childish voice,
Do you love the hymns they taught you,
Or are songs of earth your choice?

You can picture happy gatherings
Round the fireside long ago,
And you think of tearful partings,
When they left you here below:

One by one their seats were emptied,
One by one they went away;
Here the circle has been broken
Will it be complete one day?

This version here is by voice actor of Booker (Troy Baker) plays the guitar and the voice actress of Elizabeth (Courtnee Draper) sings it. Here is a clip from the credits of the game in the studio along with creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games Ken Levin, the creator and writer of the BioShock franchise.
