Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument

My beloved city has many wonders and sights to see. Here, instead of showing a grand spectacle which probably cost a building of cash, the real story lay hidden across streets and very often hiding in plain sight.

Here is a graffiti artist doing his magic on a hot afternoon in Bandra. Hidden monuments everywhere.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Joy

To my shame, I have drastically reduced my amount of clicking over the year due to various circumstances and on-going happenings. šŸ˜¦
This just made me realize I don’t remember capturing the small but much significance things such as joy. Well here is a photo of me with a friend who is cosplaying as b*tch from Breaking Bad at the Mumbai Comic-Con 2013. šŸ˜€

So much joy in blue candy isn’t it? šŸ˜‰

Weekly Photo Challenge: Community

Singinā€™ in the Rain

Mumbai is one of the highest rainfall regions in the world, and it’s a shit storm here in monsoons. Heck entire roads and alleyways disappear, which most others see in the movies, this is a very big problem here. I don’t hate the rains, I’m glad when the heat is gone but for those who ‘wait for the rain and happy with the showers from heaven’, I just like to look in their faces when this happens. It’s raining like hell here, well wet hell anyways and it’s just June. I dread to think what will happen in July, just going to be worse as that’s when it’s the worse, whose signs are already present. Or it might just go dry for all you know. Rains.

Weekly Photo Challenge: The Sign Says

This was taken awhile back. Not a very popular sign, but this really caught my eye and made me *sigh*.Ā  This is at the 8th platform at the railway station where I stay- Borivali, Mumbai; which is the second largest place in the city and one of the important connecting points. And yeah, I’m king of the north here! (*GoT reference impossible to resist*)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Up

While there are many which I can share for this challenge, here is what I dug up form the archives which I thought is a lovely representation.

Image

This is at IMAX Mumbai situated at Wadala, the first and biggest IMAX theater in whole of Asia which proudly is in my city. Took this in 2010, when I went to watch Iron Man 2 on the opening day here. Perhaps I’ll do it again when I go to see Iron Man 3 which releases next week.

Originally I wanted to share these however, which I took last month during this event which I won at. From the rooftop of the hotel, simply amazing view at the end of the city where the land ends and sea/ocean continues.

And lastly, up wouldn’t remain truly up if I don’t post this (looks like I’m being too generous this time). This is my hall ceiling which I sort of look at when sleeping faced up. Took it in pitch dark while testing my Lumia 920’s low light camera capabilities. Pretty amazing but still miss my previous amazing phone the C905 though, the world’s first true camera phone with it’s amazing Xenon flash. That could actually capture the fan with it’s blades halted.
