Life Book

From a famous writer or celebrity, to a WordPress.com blogger or someone close to you β€” who would you like to be your biographer?

ImageIf I get to choose, it would be Walter Isaacson, who is known for his biographies of Benjamin Franklin, Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs. But first I’d have to do something worthwhile, so far nothing worth (or appropriate) writing.

That Time Travel Thing

So Blogwati Geeeeeeee said there will be blood time travel. So here is time travel.

Apart from the title with too much Ts, my not-so-great humour and the above video with a guy sitting and walking (and floating) across different places playing an instrument whose name I had to Google search, what entered my mind was:

  • I’m also mostly a vagabond to my current capacity. While I consider myself an ‘aspiring traveler’ so far I ended up going to a few places and mostly I too walk on the streets.
  • Without an instrument or fancy gimmicks though. Heck I don’t even know to play a single instrument despite how rock n’ roll or metal head I look. I prefer any and all kind of music as long as I enjoy it. Same goes for other things as well.
  • I have spent all my time don’t know what I’m doing or what I want most of the time. Well, walking takes time too though.

time-travel-clockWell, you must be thinking that the song/video is called as ‘Time Traveler’ but had more to do with space, as most of what I wrote right? Well both are so inter-related as a matter of fact (it’s a science thingy, called space-time continuum, but let’s not go there)

Hey don’t click that wikipedia link (yet), BE HERE.

That being said, in short, I don’t know how time flies nor I spend too much time (or any as a matter of fact) thinking about what happened. Guess I’m so hopeless in the moment right?

My daily mantra.

Well, traveling in time or otherwise, that video reminded me of how the most powerful ‘thingy-s’ in life are so simple. Or maybe I’m the wise guy who always knew it and giving it too much credit which it doesn’t deserve.

With enough of space-time thingy (what a nice word not to use anytime conveniently when you don’t know the particular term associated with something, even when people are so lazy now that they don’t bother to look it up despite being on the internet, let alone in real life) here is something for your entertainment if you didn’t knew already, if you don’t read comics but are an avid reader (then for who knows what misguided reason you don’t read comics) of literature then you should check this comic series called Deadpool: Killustrated, based on the fan favourite character Deadpool who is known for Breaking the Fourth Wall. Here in these stories, this guy is bored and with nothing to do (in a manner of speaking) goes around traveling in time and butchering famous novels in literature. Hell fun (or should I say ouch). πŸ˜€

It’s a Text, Text, Text, Text World

How do you communicate differently online than in person, if at all? How do you communicate emotion and intent in a purely written medium?

I was actually talking about this topic recently with one of my friends, ironically online. A lot has changed over the years. We became more advanced, but less human, and I still debate whether the world has gotten more smarter or dumber. Well I’m not saying that for myself and some, but you get the idea of the masses, the whole reason they are called that…

Anyways coming to my own personal life, I also feels I have fallen prey to the inevitable ‘rise of the machines.’ But I wasn’t the very social person to begin with, though I might come in the ‘internet guy’ category, people very poorly mistaken everything for everything else and combine it in one big mess. And also at the same time I’m not very emotional either, a ‘flaw’ considered by most people who know me. But then again, as I said, that does not mean I’m a cruel dictating bastard.

As to conveying emotions through communication, I feel I do a fairly okay job both IRL AFK as well as online. After all, I’m a writer and blogger too. Sort of?

The Little Things

Describe a little thing β€” one of the things you love that define you worlds but is often overlooked.

The very fact I’m unable to think of anything at the moment suggests that I tend to overlook at lot of things which I need to pay attention. Nevertheless I do understand the importance of these little things, at least more than most others in some ways. Instead here are 2 cool songs:

Life is beautiful and troublesome

Turn to your co-workers, kids, Facebook friends, family β€” anyone who’s accessible β€” and ask them to suggest an article, an adjective, and a noun. There’s your post title! Now write.

My mother is one of the most paradoxical person in this planet. I’m not even surprised after this small interaction. I didn’t took to facebook or twitter to ask for suggestion, as most probably either I never get anything useful, at least on time when needed, or not at all. Oh but post something controversial, or at least seeming that way, or a picture with a celebrity and it goes BOOM! So I waited for my mother to come back home who just arrived some past 11 PM at home as she had gone for a wedding of a relative, and there was no one I could ask besides myself, which I have already done quite a number of times and just didn’t want to do that for who knows what time again.

And now, when I ask her simply to give me an adjective and a noun, she says ‘beautiful’ and after a moment pause of thinking, ‘life’. Then I ask her suggest me an article or simply something what I should write about today, and she immediately tells me, “Write how much life is troublesome for me. Regarding you, your studies, your health, your future and all that tension on me.” And my reaction was, really? Totally the other way of what you said some seconds ago?

Heck, I’m just stopping here. I should have just named this as ‘Typical Mothers’ but I’ll just leave it so.

Press, Endure, Survive

Instead of three blog posts which I liked, I’d just want to point out to one by a friend of mine Joogz. I met this panda sized guy some months ago and we became quick friends because of (a lot) common interests. He is a graphic artist.

Well technically just knowing each other for some months, being and each others’ places and being aware of the general shit we do, when I read this post of his last week I was completely taken aback. I couldn’t imagine such a tragic sad story behind the face of such a hilarious funny often annoying guy. I admit we all have problems, some of us worse, personally I too didn’t have a great childhood not having much cherished memories (and I’m even a declared borderline sociopath now on the verge of insanity!) but I’ll keep my worthless story for some other time.

This got me into thinking there is always worse on this planet then we can care to think about, even close around us without being much aware. No, I’m not going to give a pep talk on how thankful you should be for what you have, nor suggesting you to go and shower praise or empathy for him or someone like him. It’s just the three words I mentioned in the title, nothing else.

Go read that post. It might give you some courage if you are in the need of some. And he does great artwork and music blogging too, so you might want to follow him.

Imperfection is Life’s Perfection

More than perfection itself, which is more of an intellectual concept than reality that possibly can’t be achieved or obtained in simpler terms, what’s more important is the journey towards that ambiguous goal. Imperfection is what adds the essence to life.

I was reading this article earlier on the upcoming much awaited movie, the Man of Steel. Quoting from the article, β€œI’ll be honest with you, there’s no Kryptonite in the movie,” Snyder said. Man of Steel hopes to humanize Superman, but by giving him new flaws and vulnerabilities. Superman actor Henry Cavill said,Β β€œAlthough he is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind, he is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties.”

20100109141347752Superman is what you may call the ideal figure, or as a god. And on the other side of the coin, we have Batman, who doesn’t possess any superpowers or godly attributes as the former, but is regarded as the ideal human being, no different than a god. With still on-going debates on who is better, suffice to say these two are the greatest and well known characters who perhaps will never be knocked off from the top 2 positions.

yin-yangWhy I’m talking about them now here is that regardless of all the material and story-lore from comics and other iterations, in the core essence, Batman’s ‘weakness’ is that he is ‘human’. But Superman’s weakness is his humanity. It’s the subtle irony 90% of immature fans miss. Here we have the one who is the peak form of our species, but limited to human flesh, while the other a god who falls to our being. Now who is really perfect here?

While the Taoist symbol above explains subtly about these 2 characters, what constitutes to perfection in the first place? As I mentioned already, here it’s not about the destination but the journey. Who wouldn’t love to be Superman? In my case personally, just like everyone else I have many flaws, some I despise badly within wishing I could undo them. There are others I’m comfortable with, which in reality makes me, me. If everyone were ‘perfect’ where would be the difference and uniqueness of individuals? I guess despite many things we might have to improve on, being oneself is the most important and cherished thing of all. But we can always be Batman. πŸ˜‰

Weekly Photo Challenge: A Day in My Life

My days are usually nothing spectacular especially off lately. For this challenge I’ll share some pictures I took since some time and finally one which I snapped which was long overdue.

And since this is a new pic which was overdue as I said, the happening place near my home. A local cafe establishment called Fizzy which I witnessed growing while it grew itself. I’ll have to add it to the few posts where I always procrastinated didn’t get the time/opportunity to capture it. This place had become a part of my life and for so many others/ After all, going there since the day it came up all those years ago.
