Weekly Photo Challenge: Color

Well this is bit unusual for me too, as my post for this challenge will be on the colour yellow. I don’t much like the colour, but then again I don’t really have any preferences on such things as still my most preferred colour is black, which is technically not even a colour in the first place. Also note: being from India, and speaking English which mostly comprises of British English called Indian English, it’s colour, not the other.

On 7th April 2013 attended an IndiBlogger (India’s largest group/network of bloggers) meet, this was from Neutrogena. Check out my blog post on the meet. Because of the theme/sponsor of the meet, there was a yellow ambiance for a yellow photo opportunity. I would have added more, but because of the number already and besides wanting to keep it of that particular day/event itself I didn’t. Hope you like it. Photos by Lunatic Psyche.

Do-over!

Go back to a blog post you always thought could be better, or were unsatisfied with — now, fix it.

A small but in reality a significant fix in not one but two previous posts here. In both posts was left to add a photograph which I just did. While there can be many posts which might benefit from a redo (not sure it’s appropriate to fix them all) this was required for now. You can check out these posts of mine, Mapping out life so far and Local Flavor.

Iconic about Bombay

If there is one thing that’s truly iconic about Mumbai Bombay it is the king of food of the city – Vada Pav. Read the wiki article for some history about it, which surprisingly people here too don’t know despite consuming it for years. Known as the burger of Bombay, being the most notable street food and cheap that many to all can afford (and one of the many reasons for my poach that is). You can’t miss it if you’re in the city.

It’s not the exotic locations, facilities, beautiful ladies or even the so called spirit of Mumbai, but it’s really Vada Pav the heart of the city, the icon. And for being there with the lonely me and my tummy 😛

Weekly Photo Challenge: A Day in My Life

My days are usually nothing spectacular especially off lately. For this challenge I’ll share some pictures I took since some time and finally one which I snapped which was long overdue.

And since this is a new pic which was overdue as I said, the happening place near my home. A local cafe establishment called Fizzy which I witnessed growing while it grew itself. I’ll have to add it to the few posts where I always procrastinated didn’t get the time/opportunity to capture it. This place had become a part of my life and for so many others/ After all, going there since the day it came up all those years ago.

Blogger Sensei

Tell us about another blogger who has influenced your own online journey.

While there have been many people who have influenced me in blogging most notably many from IndiBlogger, India’s largest community of bloggers among many others, and myself of course, but that’s just another story. 😛

Here I would like to give kudos to a very old friend of mine, Rohit Hedge. Although quite not in touch since a long time and haven’t met him in years (well he’s in Calcutta now which is not so near Bombay you know, and he’s a family guy while I’m, still me) 😛

He was perhaps my first motivation to start a blog. I remember we both had the same point and shoot camera Sony W5 (which also cost a lot back in the day, now in today’s world just meh) and before that the good old film roll cameras. First met him in ’05, that’s 7 years ago! This all started back then. Pretty naive if you look at the early posts of my first other blog (description above). Today I’m pretty much known big part because of my bullshitting writing and blogs. Although he hasn’t blogged in years now, still he is one of those who got me into blogging in a way. You can view his not-so-alive blogs here and here.

Speaking of which, remembering having our pics all those years ago, have to dig in my hard disks for them.

We are extraordinary people

I came across this song by the trailer of this upcoming game which I’m dying to get (and equally dying hoping it releases on PC). The song is Not Your Kind Of People by Garbage. Although this record released last year, it perfectly sums up my growing up in childhood and even my current state. Just beautiful.

Heck it’s so beautiful that I’ll transcribe/put down the lyrics here so you don’t have to go anywhere.

We are not your kind of people.
You seem kind of phoney.
Everything’s a lie.
We are not your kind of people.
Something in your makeup.
Don’t see eye to eye.

We are not your kind of people.
Don’t want to be like you.
Ever in our lives.
We are not your kind of people.
We fight when you start talking.
There’s nothing but white noise

Running around trying to fit in,
Wanting to be loved.
It doesn’t take much.
For someone to shut you down.
When you build a shell,
Build an army in your mind.
You can’t sit still.
And you don’t like hanging round the crowd.
They don’t understand

You dropped by as I was sleeping.
You came to see the whole commotion.
And when I woke I started laughing.
The jokes on me for not believing.

We are not your kind of people.
Speak a different language.
We see through your lies.
We are not your kind of people.
Won’t be cast as demons,
Creatures you despise.

We are extraordinary people. We are…

Besides, one of my friends daily does a music blog with some cool music, you might want to check that out if you like hearing new different music.

Escape!

Describe your ultimate escape plan (and tell us what you’re escaping from).

Some of these daily prompts like this one truly makes me confused sometimes as to what exactly I’m supposed to say. Or think, as a matter of fact. Right now in real life, if I were to have a grand escape, it would be from the sort of messed up life I’m in, just do something worthwhile and run from here. Just figuring out what exactly is that I’m supposed to or want to. And speaking of escapes, I just finished playing BioShock Infinite, a game which was long awaited and finally done. Co-incidentally funny, that exactly dealt with a grand escape with a complex intellectual storyline, and was very beautiful.
