Pour Some Sugar on Me

What is your favorite sweet thing to eat? Bread pudding? Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies? A smooth and creamy piece of cheesecake? Tell us all about the anticipation and delight of eating your favorite dessert. Not into sweets? Tell us all about your weakness for that certain salty snack.

I love seasonal ice creams and fresh smoothies. Crave for the latter all the time.

Brilliant Disguise

Tell us about a time when someone had you completely fooled, where the wool was pulled right over your eyes and you got hoodwinked, but good. Was it a humorous experience or one you’d rather forget? What was the outcome?

That happens many times, and that someone has always been myself. The experience was not always humourous though, but a learning one for most of the times. The outcome is what I am today so far.

One of my favourite quotes from The Newsroom:

“The greater fool is actually an economic term. It’s a patsy. For the rest of us to profit, we need a greater fool —  someone who will buy long and sell short.
Most people spend their life trying not to be the greater fool; we toss him the hot potato, we dive for his seat when the music stops.
The greater fool is someone with the perfect blend of self-delusion and ego to think that he can succeed where others have failed.
This whole country was made by greater fools.

Always try to be a greater fool.

Something So Strong

Tell us the origin story of your best friend. How did you become friends? What is it that keeps your friendship rockin’ after all these years?

He was born over two decades ago, whose birthday went by last month.
He’s been through a lot, and surely there is much more to come.
He didn’t always like what he looked in the mirror each day he got up
But with trying and time, he learned to love and embrace it.
He might have a name after being born, but he goes by what seems more fitting.
The Nameless One.

In my so far brief existence, I’ve come to realize my best friend had to be myself. While I have people in my life everywhere, I’m yet to be that person whose presence (or absence) is acknowledged. Also I don’t get into these terminologies and classification of these various titles, as seldom they make sense (to me at least).

If You Leave

Life is a series of beginnings and endings. We leave one job to start another; we quit cities, countries, or continents for a fresh start; we leave lovers and begin new relationships. What was the last thing you contemplated leaving? What were the pros and cons? Have you made up your mind? What will you choose?

The last thing was everything. I still haven’t made up my mind the reason being still searching for the right path of my life. But guess that itself is for me to pave myself aye?

Golden Years

The Golden Years is less of a definitive period and more variant for an individual as opposed to others (like the golden age of comic books or television)

By definition, Golden Age refers to a mythological period of primeval human existence perceived as an ideal state when human beings were pure and free from suffering.

But as already said, when you take into account life of an individual and not something collective, it’s different for everybody. Usually the golden years for a person can be regarded at their initial ages, a baby or young child being loved and pampered by everyone around. But those born with a disease, thrown away as unwanted, or worse born into some captivity like slavery shows a different picture. For many school/college life is the most cherished, but not for many going through perpetual struggles which range from bullying to monetary. All well to do and happy? Time for some real retrospection.

All this is not even dramatic, it happens everyday all around the world, even right now. The more you know, the more you realize how much things are really fucked up. But hey, happiness is not an unachievable goal. It’s always unknown when will one be free from suffering, even for a bit, but that’s not what the aim should really be. It’s should be for finding oneself and true happiness. Golden years don’t just come, they have to be made, just like from the ore.
