Freedom of Facebook

Facebook has recently come under attack for failing to enforce its own guidelines on hate speech and violent imagery. Is it a website’s job to moderate the content users post, or should users have freedom to say what they want? Is there a happy medium? If so, how would you structure it?

Facebook recently stated in a post of the site’s inability to curb hate speech on the site. While I too very much condemn hate speech and of the sort, in the end on both fronts people tend to overdo it – Those on one side screaming “Freedom of Speech motherfuckers!” and “Order! Order!” at the other. Personally, I think of one stage at front, who really decides who has the right to decide what is what?
